Kung Pao Chicken
We had a lot of items on this menu and 13 people in the class. Classmate Rita and I worked on the Kung Pao Chicken. I think it came out well. Spicy dish with tender chicken.
The recipe contained the following:
- Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Marinade
- soy sauce
- Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
- sesame oil
- cornstarch
- Sauce
- dark soy sauce
- Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
- sugar
- Other components
- dried red chili peppers
- garlic
- green onions
- oil (for frying)
- peanuts or cashews
- sesame oil
The chicken in the marinade.
The green onions, garlic, and peppers.
The sauce – dark soy sauce, Chinese rice wine, and sugar
The cashews.
The chicken cooking in the wok.
After the chicken was almost done, it was removed so that the garlic, peppers, and sauce could cook. Then the chicken was added back in and the cashews and green onions were finally added.
